Larry Witmer (trombone) received his BM degree from the Curtis Institute of Music where his teacher was M. Dee Stewart (Philadelphia Orchestra).

Larry Witmer (trombone) received his Bachelor’s of Music from the Curtis Institute of Music where his teacher was M. Dee Stewart (Philadelphia Orchestra). Mr. Witmer is the former principal trombonist of the La Scala Opera Orchestra in Milan, Italy (1974-1981).

One of New York’s leading freelance trombonists, he is associate trombone with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and former principal trombone with the New York City Opera Orchestra. He is principal trombonist with the New Jersey State Opera, Connecticut Grand Opera and the Westfield Symphony, and also performs with the Queens Symphony, Broadway shows and on film scores. Larry is the trombone instructor at both Adelphi and Hofstra Universities.
