Cantus: Alone Together

» Buy Tickets to Cantus: Alone Together

By almost any measure, our ability to communicate has never been more advanced. Nevertheless—though linked by technology —people and communities still struggle to connect in meaningful ways. Cantus explores the challenges of connecting in our modern age through works by Beethoven and Leonard Bernstein paired with such contemporary composers as Jennifer Higdon, David Lang and Gabriel Kahane, as well as arrangements of music by Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles and Dave Matthews. Alone Together will also feature a brand-new, multimovement work by Libby Larsen.

The “engaging” (The New Yorker) men’s vocal ensemble Cantus is widely known for its trademark warmth and blend, innovative programming, and charismatic personality demonstrated in performances of music ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century.

Winner of three prestigious Chorus America awards, including the Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence, Cantus enjoys an active schedule of national tour dates, subscription concerts in its home of Minneapolis-St. Paul, and commitment to educational outreach programs and recording.
