Screening of El Padrino

The feature filmĀ El Padrino will be screened. Afterward, there will be a brief Q and A. El Padrino was created by the combined talents of a number of professors, staff members, students and alumni from the Adelphi community. It dramatizes the plight of undocumented immigrants trying to elude ICE agents. At the same time, it is a celebration of human life and endeavor. It is shot all over the East Village and is filled with scenes of the two teen immigrants enjoying a night out on the town. Christopher Alvarez stars as a seriously disabled immigrant who doesn’t let his limitations stop him from living large or from succeeding in his battles with the forces against him. The movie is enriched by a guest appearance by Alejandro Aguilar who was featured in Netflix’s El Chapo.
